D&D Pacific Fisheries was first created in 1993 to assist the Pacific Urchin Harvesters Association of British Columbia in taking an active role in management, ensuring that the fishery remains sustainable. D&D is located in Gibsons, British Columbia, a coastal community of 5000 people.

D&D is a private company with employees throughout coastal British Columbia. Both owners have worked for years in fishing and related resources and have developed strong connections in those fields. One of their objectives is to hire qualified displaced people (from injury or loss of fishery) from the fishing industry. Several employees have an extensive environmental background. From salmon enhancement to biomass surveys, our team is fully knowledgeable in the research programs that Associations develop with the Department.

The company supports coastal community efforts in maintaining a viable economy by providing jobs resulting from Dockside Monitoring Programs.

D&D believes that on-going and open communication with all parties involved in the industry is essential to the success of a Dockside Monitoring Program. This is reflected in efforts to promote discussions between the fishers, the Department, processors, packers, and other industry participants.

Our team of certified observers and office staff is dedicated to provide commercial dive fisheries with a professional and cost effective monitoring program while maintaining the highest level of integrity.
